Ik stuurde een mail aan de provider:

Hi Toni,

My name is Duns Ouray, I am an editor for the Dutch blog 'The Free People' http://www.hetvrijevolk.com/

It has come to my attention that you have taken SIOE Nederland offline (http://sioenederland.wordpress.com/). You claim to have received "several complaints" about "hateful or racially or ethnically objectionable content". Most interestingly, you claim to have received "complaints from the Dutch government".

I speak Dutch, and I have visited SIOE Nederland. I have never come upon "hateful or racially or ethnically objectionable content". I would be very surprised if this were true.

Also, it strikes me as bizarre that the Dutch government would complain to the provider about the content of a site. Think about it. Wouldn't it be appropriate for the Dutch government to pursue legal action, rather than try to get a site offline through complaints?

If it really were the Dutch government complaining, without a court order, wouldn't that open them up to sizable legal liabilities? Not to speak of a fall-out in public relations?

I am hoping you will answer the questions below:

- Could you show me the complaint that you have gotten, in particular the one from the Dutch government?
- Could you show me what hateful or racially or ethnically objectionable content has been posted on the site?

Thank you for writing. We suspended the blog based on the following complaint:

Dear Abuse Department,

I write you on behalf of the Dutch Complaints Bureau for Discrimination on
the Internet.

The Dutch public can file a complaint at the Complaints Bureau if they
encounter hateful or discriminatory content on the 'Dutch part' of the
Internet. The Complaints Bureau then locates the content and tests it
against Dutch non-discrimination legislation. If the content is on the
'Dutch part' of the Internet and is in violation of Dutch law, we send a
request for removal of the illegal content.

We recently received a complaint about the following website:

This website is full of racist, hateful and defamatory content against
muslims. I will copy and translate a few of the remarks that can be seen on
this site.

These hateful and racist remarks are just a few examples of the material
that can be found on this extremely racist website.

In your Terms of Service you state the following conditions:

the Content is not obscene, libelous or defamatory, hateful or racially or
ethnically objectionable, and does not violate the privacy or publicity
rights of any third party;

Considering the nature of the remarks and the fact that the remarks on this
site are not only in violation of your Terms of Service, but are also in
violation of the Dutch Penal Code, i therefore request the removal of this
website.

Hi Toni,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Let me note something crucial. "The Dutch Complaints Bureau for Discrimination on the Internet" is NOT the Dutch government. It is an independent foundation.

In my personal opinion, it is a foundation of political zealots. They attempt to silence people who do not share their islamist views, by wearing them down with legal action and semi-legal complaints.

The complaint they filed you with is something that I would qualify as semi-legal action. Or policitical activism.

Also, their translations are not fair and complete.

I have had dealing with them before (about content on my website). They hold that any general remarks about muslims are discriminatory. Simply, because it generalizes the adherents of a religion.

You will find that this is the core complaint about the quotations they send you. I do not believe that a mere generalization is discriminatory, and neither does the American law (which I believe applies here).

But maybe you beg to differ?

"Thirdly, even after extended contact muslims don't adjust their opinion about people from the west, (muslims hold them to be materialic and depraved). We are witness to a failed social experiment on a grand scale."
